  3. Menu Styles
  4. "Menu-styled" is defined as highlighting text and changing its style via the application's Styles menu. This is not a problem if in fact the following criteria is met: 1) the font supports the style and 2) a printer font exists. For example, if you select text and then choose "Bold", but the current font cannot support the bold typeface, then the text will appear bold on the screen, but unfortunately will appear on the printed page as plain text. Worse than this is if the printer font is missing the text will be printed with the substituted font Courier.

FLIGHTCHECK¬Æ can be relied upon to catch menu-styled text. Without FLIGHTCHECK¬Æ you would be forced to find out such a problem by printing the document, dancing cheerfully over to the printer, picking up the printed paper and bursting into tears the moment you spot the story printed with an incorrect style or with the dreaded default font Courier.
